FLPOA Friendly Triathlon This year’s FLPOA Friendly Triathlon on August 9th was a grand success, and brought out our highest number of participants yet! Competitors ranged in age from 5 to upwards of 75, and it was wonderful to see people connecting with old friends and building new connections at the post-race brunch. The inimitable Beverly McCarthy was an exceptional host, and we are thankful to the planning committee, volunteers, and participants who made the day possible! Lake Clean-Up: Please Take A Walk On Your Shoreline Choose a day and time that works best for you this weekend to scour a section of the lake, beaches, roads, and trees along the shoreline for fishing line, hooks, and trash.  As a reminder, there are four locations around the lake with fishing line recycling containers. (If you need help finding one, please send an email to hali.holmes@friendslakeny.org).  Let Hali know that you did this (even if you don’t find anything) AND share a picture of your “catch” (feel free to include yourself!). Loon Friendly Lake / Wildlife Committee If you’re at the lake, you’ve probably been treated to the call of the loons! We’re excited they’re back, and are looking forward to protecting them again this summer as we work toward our fifth Loon Friendly Lake Certification through the ADK Center for Loon Conservation.  This year, our first of two lake clean-ups (one of the requirements) is scheduled for the first week of July. To make participation easy, please choose a day and time that works best for you during that week to scour a section of the lake, beaches, roads, and trees along…
