We look forward to seeing you at the FLPOA Annual Meeting! Get updates about things happening on Friends Lake, pay your dues, and participate in an optional raffle!

Location: Town of Chester Municipal Center auditorium.

9:00 AM – Coffee Hour: There will be a coffee hour meet-and-greet at 9:00 AM with delicious homemade pastries and the opportunity to catch up and connect with lake friends and meet new neighbors. Bring your coffee mug!

10:00 AM – Meeting Start

Get involved with FLPOA!

Loon Friendly Lake / Wildlife Committee

  • Participate in one or both annual lake clean-ups. Always be on the lookout for fishing
  • line, hooks, and trash.
  • Dispose of fishing line in one of five fishing line recycling containers around the lake, or
  • add one to your association beach.
  • Learn about how to protect loons and other wildlife- ADK Center for Loon Conservation and the FLPOA website.
  • Leave educational brochures for guests / renters.

Water Quality Committee

  • Get training on Aquatic Invasive Species- Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program
  • Join the team that surveys the lake each year

Development Committee

  • Review minutes each month for- Town Board, Planning Board, Zoning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals
  • Develop periodic communications to FLPOA members on important Town of Chester developments.
  • Periodically review Adirondack Park Association and NYS Department of Environmental
  • Conservation websites for news and regulatory changes

Social Events

  • Volunteer to organize one of the FLPOA social events
  • Volunteer to assist with one of the FLPOA social events
  • Help create new ideas for bringing members together and spreading the word of our strong community

Communication/ Technology

  • Welcome new members – call, visit or email
  • Write an article for the newsletter
  • Develop content for website
  • Encourage use of our website and to connect the Friends Lake community more effectively

Nominating Committee

  • Seek out people willing to serve on a committee
  • Seek out future board members

General

  • Support Atateka Dr reduced speed limit
  • Clean up Friends Lake Road or Atateka Drive
