About The Association

The Friends Lake Property Owners Association (FLPOA) is a non-profit, tax exempt organization1 representing the interests of Friends Lake property owners. This organization was founded in 1954 and is run by a group dedicated volunteers, many of whom are on the Board or are participating residents who help on one or more of our committees.

FLPOA membership is composed of property owners, right-of-way owners or others interested in the welfare of Friends Lake. Newsletters are emailed out to our mailing list seasonally, with the Association meeting every year in July. If you would like to join us, please complete this member registration form. For anyone who would like to get more involved, you can join one of our many committees or join the Board.

Partnerships

Many of the issues and concerns confronting FLPOA and Friends Lake are shared by our peers throughout the Adirondack Mountains. Our Association is a member of the Adirondack Lakes Alliance (ALA), which represents multiple lake and river associations within the Adirondack Parks. The ALA provides a forum for lake and river associations to share information, resources and to make recommendations to appropriate state, county and local agencies.
