Loon Clean Up Through the Weekend!
Our last lake clean-up is scheduled for this week. Please choose a day and time that works best for you during the weekend to scour a section of the lake, beaches, roads, and trees along the shoreline for fishing line, hooks, and trash. As a reminder, there are four locations around the lake with fishing line recycling containers. Please send an email to hnholmes@nycap.rr.com if you need help finding one, as well as to report that you’ve helped with a clean-up. Pictures are appreciated! Also, if you’re an angler, please remember to trade in your lead tackle at the Crossroads General Store, as lead is deadly to loons and other wildlife.

End of Season Social – September 8 FLPOA
FLPOA members Liz and Bob Hughes, will host the End of Season Social on their beach, or at their home if we have inclement weather. This will be a casual event, we are asking attendees to BYOB and also an appetizer or dessert. The FLPOA will provide enough beverages and appetizers to get the party started! Please RSVP here (It’s easiest to edit the document from your computer vs mobile).
We are very excited about this new format for this event and are hopeful that we will have a large turnout of our FLPOA membership!
Directions to Murphy Beach: Turn down Murphy Rd, across from the lower Friends Lake Inn parking lot. Follow the dirt road to the bottom of the hill. You will see a red/white sign on the left-continue straight up a small hill. Follow the road around the big pine trees and through the gate to the beach. There will be signs as you proceed. Additional parking can be found before you enter the gate if beach parking is full. In case of inclement weather, we will gather at Full Circle Farm, 909 Friends Lake Rd, next to the horse farm. There is plenty of parking on the grass under the birch trees as you come up the driveway.
