NOTICE OF FLPOA ANNUAL MEETING ON 11 JULY, 10 AM
In accordance with our by-laws, we will be holding a ZOOM meeting on Saturday, 11, July, 10 AM. You will receive an invite to the ZOOM meeting and other relevant information concerning the meeting in early July. Please try to join the meeting 10 minutes before the official start at 10 AM so we can take attendance for quorum purposes.

The Board of Directors has determined that, in an abundance of caution, the Annual Meeting should be held in accord with the guidelines established by CDC and the policies established by Governor Cuomo. In this regard we have had numerous discussions with Town, Warren County and State officials.
As a result of these discussions we have concluded that an annual meeting, of the type we have historically held, is not permitted at this time. It appears that meetings like ours are included in the same broad category as symposiums, conferences and religious services and it is unclear when these activities will be sanctioned in NYS. The potential to hold our meeting outdoors, while maintaining social distance guidelines, was unpersuasive.

ZOOM meetings have limitations with respect to the ability to engage in meaningful dialogue concerning matters, such as those included in the draft agenda that follows. If you have specific questions or concerns regarding these or other issues, please email them ahead of the meeting to either our web site or post them on Facebook (FB). We will attempt to address your concerns in the presentations and will subsequently post our responses on FB and our web site.

The chat function will be employed in the meeting, but if we receive questions in advance it will assist us in providing a meaningful dialogue within roughly one hour’s time. ZOOM meetings fray as their duration exceeds an hour. The annual meeting normally provides an opportunity to meet old friends and create new ones. With the ZOOM, even though you will not be able to have a dialogue with each other, you will be able to see each other, vote on important matters, and ask a question if needed.

HELP WITH CSLAP
We still need volunteers to participate in this effort. It is a great way for your teenage children to become involved with the lake’s health. The job entails water sampling from a boat, recording water conditions, preparing samples for shipping and dropping off at UPS. This takes place on Mondays or Tuesdays. The timeline requires sampling on the following dates throughout the summer:
• July 6th or 7th and 20th or 21st
• August 3rd or 4th and 17th or 18th
• August 31st or September 1st
If you are interested in participating in this effort, please contact Larry Estill.

NEW BOATING LAW
As of January 1, 2020, New York began a phase-in-by-age law that requires boaters to become certified by passing a boater safety course and to carry a New York boater card. All motorized boat operators born on or after January 1, 1993, are required to carry cards NOW. https://parks.ny.gov/recreation/boating/education.aspx

SAFETY
Please review our guidance on safety as posted on our website: http://friendslakeny.org/community-resources/safety-tips/.

FIREWORKS
If you are planning on using fireworks, please be mindful of safety as well as potential fire danger. Early the next morning take a few minutes to clean up the residue. Everyone would appreciate it if fireworks were finished by 11 PM. Please tell your renters.
